What we can never seem to figure out around the Gossip offices is how anyone is still without a copy of Adele‘s brilliant, Grammy-winning album, 21. With millions and millions of copies sold, after winning a handful of Grammy’s recently, she has stayed at the top of the charts again with a 196% sales increase giving her another 716,091 copies soild. That brings her total to around 6 million copies and has spent about 40% of the last year at the top of the Billboard 200 charts. Also ridiculous is that her years-old debut, 19, has climbed its way to the number four position this week with a sales increase of 135%. Essentially it is Adele’s world and we are just living in it. As expected, the late Whitney Houston’s compilation album Whitney: The Greatest Hits saw a huge increase in sales to come in at the number two spot with 170,294 copies sold.
