Charlie’s Angels star Cameron Diaz and her New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez have decided to call it quits.

Rumors that the actress and baseball superstar were on the rocks started early this summer, but it wasn’t until today that the rumors were confirmed when Rodriguez spoke with People Magazine, saying he has “a lot of love for Cameron. We’ll always be friends.”

The magazine also spoke with an unnamed close friend of the couple, who reveled that “the decision to call it quits was mutual. They have considerable respect for each other.”

The couple started dating over a year and a half ago. I guess we can add this to the never-ending list of failed celebrity couples!
