Is The Upper Footage Fake?

If you haven’t heard of ‘Upper’ by now, you’re in for a bit of a shocking story– Or a completely made up story, depending on who you ask: In December of 2009, a girl named Jackie was filmed during a night of binge drinking and hardcore drug use, only to wind up over dosing and dying that same night.

The footage was kept a secret until an alleged extortionist got their hands on the footage in early 2010 and began leaking it online, causing a bidding war which eventually ended in Quentin Tarantino purchasing the rights to the footage.

The clips show the New York socialite partying, vomiting, and eventually dying, but the question still remains: Is the footage real, or is this the most elaborate publicity stunt for a movie in the history of cinema?

Despite the fact that the footage has been floating around online for nearly 4 years now, not a single major news source has been able to definitively say, “Yes, this is fake,” or, “Yes, this is real.”

The footage has finally been turned into a Blair Witch style movie, and is set for a limited release in NYC later this month, but the question remains: Is it real or is it fake?

Watch the official trailer below and let us know what you think!

ETA: The movie is fake. The trailer shows headlines from several websites, all of which are stories that were never posted online. We’re going to go ahead and assume that this is just a publicity stunt.

this-is-the-end-movie-poster

Remember when we told you forever ago that nearly every fully man in the business would be filming a movie about the end of the world where they all play themselves? Well folks, that movie is finally finished, and the trailer is finally here!

The comedy titled This Is The End follows six famous friends who get trapped in a house together after a series of catastrophic events happen that lead to the end of the world. At some point of the movie they wonder out into the real world where they meet up with the likes of Rihanna, Emma Watson, and apparently every other celebrity that was in a 20 mile radius of where they were filming that day.

The movie stars Seth Rogan, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, and Micheal Cera, although rumor has it most of them are dead by the end of the movie.

Check out the red band trailer (and a hilarious intro by Rogan and Franco) after the cut! Read more…

admission-movie-poster-tina-fey-paul-rudd

Whenever we get word that a movie is being made with two huge stars, two things run through our mind. 1) This could be really, really good, or 2) This could be a really, really big disappointment. Unfortunately for any 30 Rock/ I Love You Man fans, a new movie headed by the two stars look much more like the latter option.

The new movie, “Admission,” centers around a college admissions officer (Fey) meets a man (Rudd) who claims he knows who her son is, who Fey put up for adoption in college. The plot seems okay, the cast seems great, and the movie seems… Well, boring.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think of the upcoming film!

Catching Fire Logo

Now that the biggest current fandom is coming to a close it’s the Hunger Game’s fan’s time to shine, and it looks like they’ll be having something to freak out about sooner than expected: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire logo may debut tonight before the first showings of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II.

We should have given a warning that if you’re not overly obsessed with The Hunger Games, chances are you won’t have even the slightest interest in this post. But moving on… According to a theater employee notice, a feature will be played about the making of Catching Fire, and rumor has it that it will likely contain the first glimpse of the Catching Fire logo.

Why is this important, exactly? Well, according to Twitter, it’s hella important! #CatchingFireLogo was trending world wide on Twitter last night for nearly 6 hours, where as #BreakingDawn, the actual movie that’s coming out, was only trending for 3!

Katniss Everdeen and the rest of the Catching Fire cast will be back on the big-screen in November 2013, which begs the question: Who is going to make more box office money over all, Twilight or The Hunger Games?

The Hangover 3 movie still

Studioheads in charge of The Hangover 3 have been more than secretive about the plot of the latest installment of the comedy trilogy, but they’ve decided to give us a sneak peak at the film with new stills from the upcoming movie.

The original wolf pack- Phil, Stu, Doug and Allen- are all back for the new flick, and this time they’re being joined with a few special guests, including John Goodman.

The Hangover 2 was notoriously bashed by nearly every critic that had previously praised the first installment of the saga, but the writers of the new movie say they held off on filming until they had something they thought was on-par with the first film.

We’re still a little skeptical on the movie, but we’ll wait to see it to judge. To see more stills of the movie, click the cut and check them out!

The-Guilt-Trip-poster

We are SO seeing this! It appears Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand have teamed up for an upcoming romantic comedy from the director of The Proposal and we are totally on board! The Guilt Trip (great title, btw!) is coming out on Christmas Day and features Streisand as Rogen’s recently-widowed mother and the two of them embark on a road trip to San Francisco where Rogen has to go on a business trip. We don’t know much more than that – but we don’t need to!

See the poster above and let us know if you’ll be seeing it this upcoming holiday season in the comments!

jason-staham-j-lo

The poster for Parker, a movie none of us have known about has just been released and is clearly marketed towards fans of Jason Staham and Jennifer Lopez since that is all the poster cares to highlight.

For those who actually care about what this movie could be about, here is a synopsis:

Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez team up to get their cut in the crime thriller, PARKER, based on the series of bestselling novels by Donald E. Westlake. Parker (Jason Statham) is a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead. Determined to make sure they regret it, Parker tracks them to PalmBeach, playground of the rich and famous, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), a savvy insider, who’s short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean.

Although the plot sounds mildly interesting, we can’t help but think how underwhelming and embarrassing this poster looks.

hangover-3-poster

It’s official: The Hangover wolfpack will most likely be drugged by Zach Galifianakis again come May 24, 2013!

Although The Hangover: Part 3 is only in pre-production, the marketing team has already released this pic that looks like it was created on an old version of MS Publisher to get fans really excited!

We don’t know too much about the plot, aside from the fact that Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and that guy we always forget about  Justin Bartha will be saving Ed Helms from a mental institution.

Here’s hoping this one won’t be as lame as the last one!

Ruby Sparks Trailer

Ruby Sparks, the Jonathan Dayton/Valerie Faris directed film about an aspiring novelist has been highly talked about for quite some time, and the official trailer has finally dropped!

The movie follows Calvin (Paul Dano), a novelist who creates a character named Ruby Sparks (Zoe Kazan) for an upcoming book, only to realize that she’s somehow materialized as a living, breathing person.

Although the movie does look pretty good, it plot is a little too familiar to us… Stranger Than Fiction, anyone?

Regardless of our cinematic dejavu, we have the new trailer after the cut! Read more…

ozthegreatandpowerfultrailer

We posted the first image from Oz: The Great And Powerful earlier this week, but now we’ve got our hands on the trailer for the Wizard Of Oz remaining, and it looks good. Like, crazy good. Call in sick to work because you want to see it on opening day, good.

The movie, which stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff, centers around Franco as he lands in Oz for the first time, causing all sorts of shit to go awry.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
