Despite the fact that CBS’ new Sherlock Holmes mystery-drama hasn’t even begun airing yet, the show already has a strong following of fans. And those fans have made it very clear that despite the fact that Holmes and Watson are being played by opposing sexes, they don’t want to see any sort of hookup between the two main characters.
According to showrunners, it’ll never happen.
“For me, it’s completely off the table,” said show front runner Rob Doherty. “It’s just not in my head for Season 1 and, looking ahead … I just don’t feel like that’s a part of the show.”
When the online world heard that Lucy Liu wouldn’t be shacking up on screen with her Elementary co-star Johnny Lee Miller, it was only natural for them to change their minds on the subject.
“What’s the point of having them be a male and a female if they’re not going to do it eventually?”
“No sex= not watching.”
“LOL no sex on #elementary? the fucks the point of the show?”
As soon as they got what they wanted, they changed their minds immediately. Man we love the Internet.
