After a couple of weeks of lip-synching controversy, Beyonce took over the stage for half-time at the Super Bowl—and blew everyone away with her stunning performance!
The twitterverse went wild following the performance which included a “surprise” reunion with former Destiny Child’s band mates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
Over six million tweets were reported about Beyonce and the numbers are only going up higher!
Everybody was moved to tears by Beyonce’s live rendition of “Star-Spangled Banner” yesterday at the Presidential Inauguration. However, girlfriend failed to mention that she was lip-syncing the whole time!
A spokesperson for the U.S. Marine Corp Band — which provides the music for the Inauguration — tells TMZ, Beyonce mouthed the words to a pre-recorded studio version of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
A hint as to the actual origins of the version Beyoncé sang came from her own hand: On January 20, the day before the ceremony, Beyoncé posted pictures to her Instagram account that appeared to show her in a recording studio. In one, she holds a copy of the sheet music to “The Star Spangled Banner” in front of a microphone attached to a recording device, and in another she sits in front of recording equipment while members of the Marine Corps Band stand clutching sheet music behind her.

How to go from extremely excited to kind of irritated in a moment’s notice: Finding out that Destiny’s Child is going to be releasing a new album – this month, nonetheless! – to finding out it’s going to be a compilation called Love Songs that features just one new track. Now we can’t complain too much, since a new Destiny’s Child song (the first in eight years!) is better than no new Destiny’s Child tracks, but we still wish they would have gone ahead and banged out another nine or so tracks and made it a whole album! The new track, Nuclear, better be pretty great!
Now this is leading to intense speculation that the girls are all going to be appearing with Beyonce at her Super Bowl appearance as well. THAT we are definitely excited for!
