Even though Eddie Murphy just had the highest rated TV special on Spike TV and is dating a beautiful model, he is still in need of a comeback and this news won’t help him at all.

Forbes Magazine has made a list of the most overpaid actors and actresses in Hollywood and Eddie Murphy has topped that list.

Imagine That, A Thousand Words and Meet Dave were colossal flops. Last year’s Tower Heist, which was supposed to be something of a return to form for the comedian, failed to wow at the box office, earning $153 million on an estimated budget of $75 million.  Murphy then backed out of hosting the Oscars, which didn’t help his reputation.

A little while ago, we told you about how CBS was running out of ideas by developing a new TV series based on the cult classic Beverly Hills Cop franchise.  Now it turns out that cutie pie Brandon T. Jackson (best known as Alpa Chino from Tropic Thunder) is reportedly set to play Axel Foley’s son, Aaron Foley in the new series!

In case you were thinking that there needed to be more shows based off of old TV shows and movies, then you’re likely going to be happy about this news!

It was just announced that CBS (the same network that airs Hawaii Five-0) will be creating a new series based on the 1984 Eddie Murphy hit Beverly Hills Cop. The official description says: “A continuation of the iconic Beverly Hills Cop universe as Axel Foley’s blue-collar police officer son, Aaron, helps take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while simultaneously trying to escape the shadow of his larger than life father.”

For the few of you interested in this, apparently Murphy will appear in the pilot and is open for recurring if the show gets picked up. He is also executive-produce the program. What do you all think? Will you tune in? Let us know in the comments!
