When did Katie Couric get herself a new hosting gig? It’s new to us, anyway! Regardless, Couric is returning to the small screen with a new daytime chat show called Katie. The syndicated show will be debuting on September 10th – and Couric has just revealed who her first guest will be. None other than… Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow!?
A somewhat odd pair for the first episode of her show, no? Audiences will likely be excited to see Simpson yammer away about her new daughter, and Crow wrote and performed the theme song for Katie, apparently. In case that makes it seem like the show will be pure fluff, the next episode is more hard-hitting and features an interview with Aimee Copeland.

Apparently Jessica started having contractions early this morning but has been told to hold off on coming to the hospital until her water breaks as she’s been prone to Braxton Hicks (false labor pains) for the past few weeks, and doctors want to make sure this is the real deal before she hits the hospital and causes a media storm in the area.
For all those placing bets on when her baby’s going to arrive, you can go ahead and stick your money on today! It looks like baby Simpson is on the way.
