We knew this day would come!

Trying to avoid eye contact, recently divorced former couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand stole glances at one another as they sat on opposite sides of the court at the Lakers game at Staples Center in L.A. yesterday.

Even from the photos above, it’s hard not to notice the tension and although it’s discerning to see, it is also relieving to know that celebrities feel uncomfortable too when bumping into their exes!

Oh, and for those who care, The Lakers lost to the MAVERICKS and since we’re huge MAVERICKS fans at Gossip Overload, we felt like bragging about it!

Hmm… We’re not entirely convinced this is a good idea. 3D concert films haven’t been blowing up the box office lately, with misfires from Katy Perry, Glee and more. The last person to have a big smash was Justin Bieber and that was several years ago now.

That doesn’t seem to bother Jennifer Lopez, who is apparently preparing for a 3D concert film of her own, which will delve into the past few years of her life. While we’re sure Lopez has a lot of interesting stories to share, Perry arguably had more of a rise-to-fame backstory (along with a younger demographic of fans that might be interested in checking out such a film) that might be more appealing. No more information is available just yet, but Lopez has a title in mind, which also doesn’t make it seem like she learned much from Perry’s disappointing box office results, by taking the title of a recent single and turning it into a movie. That’s right. The Lopez film is expected to be called Dance Again. Maybe since she’s no longer doing American Idol she just wanted to add another project to her plate?

Katy Perry is just one of the celebs that, along with Justin Bieber, have professed their love for Carly Rae Jepsen‘s single Call Me Maybe, which has hit #1 is several countries throughout the world. In fact, former Canadian Idol contestant Jepsen owes much of her success to Bieber, who told his millions of Twitter followers about her when very few others were aware of her – or her song.

Now we can add Jimmy Fallon along with his talk show’s house band, The Roots, to the mix. They just created a new video with Jepsen herself where they belt out the summer smash using some rather unorthodox instruments.

It looks like it’s going to be a big award season for LMFAO, Rihanna and Adele this year–  The three artists are leading the way in nominations for the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. Adele alone is nominated for 18 statues! What was she not nominated for this year?!

Other big nominees include Gaga, Lil Wayne and Katy Perry. The show will take place in Las Vegas’ MGM Grand and is set to air on Sunday May 20 on ABC.

Just because she’s got blue hair, doesn’t mean Katy Perry is still feeling down in the dumps about the one who got away – a certain Brand-name. Pretty Perry has been spotted romantically entangled with Baptiste Giabiconi, a douchy looking Frenchman who is reportedly the highest paid model in the world. I guess that’s cool.

The two met during Paris Fashion Week at the Chanel show and were seen together leaving Le Montana nightclub. Looks like the city of love and lights is shining down on the recent divorcée.

Frenchman Baptiste’s resume currently includes creds for being the male face of Chanel, Fendi, and Karl Lagerfeld. But he is also an aspiring singer! In an interview with The London Standard, he describes his new passion.
