Remember when actress Nikki Blonsky went from staring in a movie with Zack Efron, John Travolta and Christopher Walken to working as a hair sweeper in a salon? Well it looks like Blonsky is finally getting her career back on track because the actress-turned-pseudo-custodian is coming back to TV this fall.
The Golden Globe nominee has been confirmed as the latest addition to the NBC Broadway drama Smash, joining other cast newcomers Jennifer Hudson and Sean Hayes.
Smash producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan were the original two that first discovered Blonsky for her breakout role in the 2007 musical, and The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that the duo fought tooth and nail to get Nikki on the show.
If you haven’t caught the first season yet, you have until mid-season to catch up! NBC isn’t bringing the fan favorite back on air until 2013.
