Looks like waiting patiently for Jimmy Fallon’s return to Saturday Night Live payed off, because the former cast member returned to the sketch comedy show with a bang!

The funnyman’s episode wasn’t only the highest rated of the year, it was the best reviewed by critics on Sunday morning and the most Tweeted about. We can only assume the star is feeling pretty good about himself right now!

This weekend SNL saw a 5.3 rating, which they haven’t seen since Justin Timberlake hosted 2010′s season finale with Lady Gaga as the musical guest star.

The Late Night talk show host brought along former cast members like Tracey Morgan, Rachel Dratch, Horatio Sanz, Chris Kattan, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and even British pal Jude Law.

Considering his popular past on the show it’s not a shock that he did so well, but it is surprising he predicted this day over a decade ago! Check out the cut to see what we’re talking about…
