Freshly a single woman with a new #1 track on iTunes (Part of Me in case you haven’t turned on a radio in the last week or so) what is Katy Perry getting up to next? She has just landed a guest role on Fox’s sophomore comedy Raising Hope. Have you guys been tuning in? We’ve been finding it especially funny this season and can’t wait to see what Perry gets up to. She’s apparently going to be in an episode called Single White Female playing a character named Rikki who is a prison attendent who will run into Shannon Woodward’s character after she is arrested in an Occupy Natesville protest. It turns out that Woodward and Perry and great friends in real life and Perry gives a hilarious description of how she came to be cast: “A couple of weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when Shannon called me up and asked if I wanted to do something ‘fun’ for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin’ with my best friend.” Who doesn’t, Katy? We will definitely be tuning in here at the Gossip offices when the episode airs on March 6th.
