Ever since we first heard news that a film about Princess Diana was being made and then that Naomi Watts was cast in the upcoming biopic, we were cautiously optimistic, since Watts is a great actress, but also aware that a role of this magnitude was going to invite a LOT of potential criticism.

Now the first picture from the film, entitled Diana, has emerged and so far we can breathe a sigh of relief. It looks like they have the look just right, from the hair to the wardrobe. Watts said in a statement: “It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role — Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen.”
