Foo-Fighters-break-up

In what may be the most casual announcement for band of this grandeur to call it quits, Dave Grohl has announced that his band Foo Fighters are saying goodbye to the music game for a while.

While playing a set with The Black Keys and Neil Young (yeah, we’d be sad if we missed that show, too!), Dave let the crowd know that they were witnessing what could be the band’s final hurrah.

“This is it… Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this. This is it, man. Honestly I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again…and this is the perfect place to do it,” Dave told the crowd.

But, of course, the band didn’t go down without a bang, playing some of their biggest hits to the crowd of nearly 60, 000 including ’My Hero’, ‘Times Like These’, ‘All My Life’, ‘Best Of You’ closing the night with their most downloaded song (this according to iTunes), ‘Everlong.’

Before leaving the stage, Grohl told the audience: “I don’t know when, but we’ll see you again.”
