Considering how big The Hunger Games phenomenon is, it was only a matter of time before the CW cashed in on its success.

According to the new string of pilot titles for The CW network, a Hunger Games doppelganger television show called The Selection and it will be starring Scream 4 star Aimee Teegarden and will be added to the fall lineup.

According to Perez Hilton, the show is about a girl (Teegarden) who lives in a Panem-esque society and is chosen to enter an intense competition to marry a prince!

Like The Hunger Games, the show is based off a series of books by poseur writer Kiera Cass and the books will be conveniently coming out by April 24th.

Sounds like a shady idea to us at Gossip Overload, but considering the success of Twilight rip-off The Vampire Diaries, The Selection might be be worth the watch!
