You’ve got to love when journalists don’t do their research!

While promoting their new movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which is sure to be a 2012 Oscar contender, Vanessa Hudgens and co-star/ex-boyfriend Josh Hutcherson were asked live on Australia’s Today show how long they’ve been dating for, and things got awkward!

The two took a beat to stop talking and look at each other before embarrassingly that they haven’t been dating for a while.

Hutcherson tried to save the moment by joking that she “broke my heart,” but it looked like there was a little truth behind that sarcastic tone, which made it all the more awkward… And all the better for us!
